Arky is a technologist and a visual storyteller, who helps non-profits, social enterprises use Information and communication technology (ICT). He has been involved in Free and Open Source communities for over a decade and worked with various non-profits: Braille Without Borders (BWB), NGO Resource Center and Mozilla in Asia, SE. Asia and Africa. He now lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Ashish Fitkariwala is the Founder and Director of EduQuest Hub, which is the first Educational information portal and marketplace in Cambodia bringing the leading EdTech and skill development solutions to fill the existing knowledge gap in the country’s educational and corporate sector.

Ashish comes with over 13 years of experience in leadership, marketing, sales, partnership and relationship management, working with various private sector organizations in India and Cambodia.

He has worked with organizations like Accenture, Lenovo, and Hewlett-Packard prior to joining Thakral Group in Cambodia as Country Manager for Business Operations in 2011.

He was the Board member with Cambodia ICT Federation.

Chhin Chhaya

Chhaya Chhin is the Founder of Puttik Information and Media platform. Recently, he is working in one of the United Nation Agencies in Cambodia. He has experience of more than 8 years working in the radio industry work and over seven years working in the legal sector based on human rights with various International and National Organizations. He was a member of the Fair Trial Rights Club of the first generation in 2011, run by UNOHCHR and the Defense Support Section, which provided in-depth knowledge of the application of fair trial rights at the Extraordinary Chambers in Court of Cambodia and in the domestic court. He also worked as a Khmer Rouge Tribunal Monitor (Asian International Justice Initiative) and Project Officer at Destination Justice. He was the recipient selected among 10 ASEAN countries, who have been awarded a project granted by the US Department of State Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI), with this award he has been selected to be the IOMX youth leader for International Organization for Migration, this will support him with the project called ASEAN Youth Ending Slavery. He was a MTV EXIT Youth Leader for Cambodia for which he organized local and national events to help raise awareness about human trafficking prevention. He graduated from the English Language based Bachelor of Law Program at Rule.

Chia-Kai Liu is an entrepreneur, an agent of change, and an occasional civic hacker. He is the CEO of DSP (https://dsp.im/), a Taipei-based consulting firm specialized in using data analytics to drive digital transformation across industries. He assisted government agencies in shaping open data and data governance policies. He is also a co-organizer of Data for Social Good (D4SG) (http://d4sg.org/), a pro bono community platform that connects government agencies and not-for-profit organizations with local data scientists.

Poren Chiang (a.k.a RS) is a senior law student at National Taiwan University and the founder of NTU Open Source Community. Noting the impacts of technology and the importance of individual rights, he cooperates with friends to “write programs to change society.” You can occasionally spot him grabbing coffee around campus, writing postcards and fiddling with code.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University Of Computer Studies Yangon and her post-graduate diploma in Systems Analysis from the National University Of Singapore, Chit also gained experience working in the technology sector of both Singapore and Myanmar. Chit is now in Myanmar promoting education through technological means. Her goal is to provide education in areas that lack access to quality teaching and schools. She started CCEducare Myanmar organization since 2017 and holds digital literacy workshops using blended learning (Face to Face & Online Learning). Her organization is providing learning solutions by working closely with partners. Her mission is to unlock the leadership potential of young peoples in Myanmar by providing lifelong learning with innovative technology to complete higher education and become change-makers in their communities.

Mr. John WEEKS is a digital media expert consulting on socially responsible web projects. He founded web design firm House32 (Phnom Penh), regularly participates in local/regional tech community events and has consulted on numerous digital publishing efforts. John assisted in founding ICT4DCambodia, oversaw the web team for the initial build of Open Development Cambodia and currently serves on its board.

Kun Chenda

Kun Chenda is Cambodia’s emerging Media and Information Specialist. Currently, Chenda is an online manager at Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM). Before joining CCIM, he worked as a media officer at World Vision Cambodia, research assistant, video journalist at VOA Khmer, and an independent filmmaker. He also works as a freelance media consultant. Chenda Kun is an outstanding media graduate in Media Management of Department of Media and Communication (DMC), Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). He is now pursuing MA in International Human Rights Law at Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC).

Thakvika began his career as a software developer at the age of thirteen years while employed with Bikay Web Solution & Consultancy Company of Phnom Penh and Blockchain R&D at Smallworld Cambodia. Currently, he had been employing as the Lead Blockchain Developer at Rights Ledger, a decentralized content license management platform.

He’s always dreamed of finding the way to introduce modern technology like Blockchain to Cambodian. He wants to prove the world that Cambodian also have great resource on building something as big as other countries and especially with Blockchain technology.

Along with ethical hacking and Blockchain programming, he enjoys cycling and music, both which help relieve stress and bring happiness. Among his many goals for the future, his plan is to travel to the very edges of the earth.

Akira Morita is an innovation consultant with 14 years of experience helping teams grow, transition into new arenas, create new services and products, and tightening their strategies and goals. His focus has always been fostering conversations and collaborations that spark change, be it an honest talk about tough transitions, an open ideation sprints, or an expansive dialogue about what could be, among those familiar with each other or strangers across cultures and disciplines.

He is a founding partner of Design Kompany, LLC, and currently serves as a co-founding consultant partner at Anakot Asia Academy, a training company based in Phnom Penh, and as Sandbox Architect and Community Design Director at School of Slow Media | TÁPI STORY.

Vimoil is currently an Editor-Researcher at Open Development Cambodia (ODC). After an initiation of Cambodia ICT Camp 2018, she plays a role as a Camp Facilitator. She works closely with the camp participants from the first step of selection process until the candidates are selected by involving in shortlisting and communication. In addition, she also works on producing contents on Cambodia ICT Camp website by publishing and translating the contents and blog posts from English to Khmer.

Phel Phearoun

His roles are to provide technical support to the ministry such as developing of ICT curriculum and textbook for general education/technical education/Teacher Training, ICT for teaching and learning, education content portal/LMS, ICT infrastructure, Educational Data Center, Educational Network, Educational Database, MoEYS MIS, and cooperating with NGO partners on ICT development in Education, Cambodia.

Prum Punwath is the Content and communication facilitator for the Cambodia ICT Camp. He under the camp advisory committee coordinates the process of selecting speakers, communicate with the speakers for camp content development (presentation and masterclass) and for logistic arrangement.

Punwath is Data research and GIS Coordinator at Open Development Cambodia, an open data organization which independently aggregates multi sectorial spatial and non-spatial data to provide insight on Cambodia’s development. His background is land management and land administration and he is interested in using geospatial intelligent technology to address to the social and environmental issues.

Pyrou Chung

Chung has extensive experience in the development sector in the conservation and human rights, including extensive work with EWMI’s Open Development Initiative (ODI) and its partners in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Myanmar. She’s an ecologist and sustainable development practitioner and has worked between the nexus of environmental governance, conservation, and human rights with an emphasis on implementing integrated biodiversity, natural resource management, and land rights initiatives with indigenous, forest-dependent or rural communities. Prior to working with ODI, she played a critical role in the formation of the Prey Lang Community Network and conducted research which led to the foundation of what is now Open Development Cambodia.

Setha Rath

Setha Rath is a Senior Innovation Program Manager at Development Innovations. She has extensive experience in program design, development and management across many technical areas including using information and communication technologies (ICTs) for social development causes; and uses human centered design and user experience mapping to help NGO and private sectors partners to design and implement projects that deliver results. Setha have provided tech coaching and advisory services  to the development partners to help them identify the problems they are trying to address with new technologies through the human centered design process, and help develop customer journey mapping tools or build rapid prototypes (sample products/services) to test with the target users. She recently produced a publication on ICT for Education project titled “Deconstructing Design: Transforming Reading Assessments Through Technology in Cambodia”. Sirko Kemter

Sirko works since more than 20 years with free and open source software, he contributed to many open source projects and is since more than 10 years Fedora Ambassador and Design Team member served as a Fedora Ambassador Steering Committee member and liaison for the Asia-Pacific region, on his account are several books and other publications and he promoted FOSS worldwide as he is a sought speaker. In his spare time he enjoys photography, which he of course does with FOSS entirely, he reads a lot and loves to cook.

Through schooling and his careers, Ratana has developed keen interests in a myriad of topics, including higher education and youth empowerment, sustainable urban living, human interaction in the age of social media, and public health, to list a few. Over the past 5 years, Ratana has been professionally involved in the area of HIV prevention among at-risk populations in Cambodia, focusing mainly on how existing and upcoming information communication and technologies could be leveraged to advance HIV prevention work online and at the community level in the country.

Additionally, she and her team will facilitate with speakers and participants before, during and after the camp.

Thy Try is the Executive Director/Editor-in-Chief of Open Development Cambodia (ODC). For the last ten years he has been promoting open data, a stronger open data community and open contracting to improve transparency and accountability for sustainable development in Cambodia and the wider Mekong region.

As Executive Director/Editor-in-Chief, Try plays an important role in increasing public access to current and historical data and information about Cambodia’s development trends. The primary avenue is ODC’s online open data platform, compiling freely-available data from a wide range of public sources.

In 2015, he joined the Mekong ICT Camp in Thailand as a participant and then in 2017 his organization had the great opportunity to host the Mekong ICT Camp 2017 outside of Thailand. Following its successful organization of this event, ODC was encouraged by committee members of the Mekong ICT Camp and the open data community to host the first Cambodian ICT Camp in 2018. Try also plays a key role in the fundraising campaign for the camp.

Try has a legal background and been involving with many research projects including the situation around cyber law and freedom of the internet in Cambodia since 2013. He is a member of the advisory committee of the Global Center for Mekong Studies (GCMS) Cambodia.

Before SUNRISE, she used to do internship and worked at Norton University, Smart Mobile Company, Skyline Apartment, Passerelles numériques Cambodia (PNC), AMK MFI, and has always been involved in the IT sector. Last but not least, she has been participated in Mekong ICT last year, and also her group has been elected by Selection Committee at the 5th Mekong ICT Camp 2017, for the seed grant was awarded for the 5 best prototypes (one for each country in the Mekong sub-region). This year, she is willing to share about Cam Lost And Found Project and also Introduction to Cyber Security.

Hla Hla is on a mission to visioneer learning and democratize quality education by leveraging Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and other mobile phone technologies. After completing a Public Administration master’s degree at Harvard Kennedy School of Government, she started running an educational technology venture based out of the NASA Research center in Silicon Valley.

360ed is providing policy advice, conducting teachers training and applying technological innovation to pedagogy in Southeast Asia, starting with Myanmar. Their work had been recognized by UNESCO and received an award for innovation in digital technologies in February 2018.

Hla Hla is now heading Myanmar office and works on EdTech projects dedicated to bringing scalable, immediate, and exponential impacts in transforming national education and beyond.
