When and where is the Cambodia ICT Camp 2024 taking place?

The camp will be held from December 5-7, 2024, at the Bayon Era Hotel in Siem Reap with the address being National Road 6, Khnar Village, Chreav Commun, Siem Reap, Cambodia. (Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NAzqiTSkN3kY3ddi9)

What are the daily timings of the sessions?

The sessions will run from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with optional activities in the evenings.

How can local participants and speakers from Phnom Penh travel to Siem Reap?

A bus will be arranged to leave Phnom Penh at 8:30 AM on December 4, 2024, from the Office of Open Development Cambodia (ODC) at the address located at #23B, Street 606, Sangkat Boeng Kak Ti Pir, Khan Tuol Kouk, Phnom Penh (Google Maps: https://tinyurl.com/2s39ac6r). Please be informed that organizers will not reimburse the cost of transportation if they want to use their own vehicle and take separated bus, either on the same traveling day or later that day.

What about local participants coming from outside Phnom Penh?

They must arrange and bear the cost of their travel to Phnom Penh or directly to Siem Reap. The organizers will NOT cover these expenses.

How are international participants and speakers traveling?

Flights will be arranged for international attendees to Siem Reap Angkor International Airport. International participants must arrange their own taxi or tuk-tuk to the Bayon Era Hotel. International speakers will be picked up by the organizers at the airport.

How do I get a Cambodian visa?

Organizers will issue an invitation letter to speakers, facilitators and participants. However, you are responsible for acquiring your visa to enter Cambodia.

What should I bring as a participant?

International speakers and facilitators:

  • Passport
  • Boarding pass: please make sure you keep your boarding passes; upon check-in at the Camp, the organizer of registration will collect boarding passes from you.

Local participant, speakers including VIP delegation from government representatives

  • ID card or passport. (This is needed for the hotel who have a legal requirement to file to the police every day).

Is there any financial support for meals during the travelling days?

A per diem for meals will be provided only on December 4, 2024 (departure day) and December 8, 2024 (returning day) for all attendees.

Are meals provided during the camp?

Meals will be provided from December 5-7, 2024, except for dinner on December 7. A per diem will be given to cover that meal. The Bayon Era Hotel has Halal food option for Muslim participants.

Where will attendees stay during the camp?

All participants and speakers will stay at the Bayon Era Hotel, sharing twin rooms. Organizers will not be able to arrange the single room for all attendees. However, if they prefer single room, organizers can cover half of the total expense only. Prior notice is needed if they want to choose the single room for better arrangement. All speakers and participants are not encouraged to stay at other hotels.

Are there any responsibilities regarding hotel room items?

Attendees are responsible for any damages or loss of items in their rooms and consumption of minibar items, including drinks and alcohol.

Are there any rules of conduct?

All participants and speakers must actively engage in the camp and attend all three days. There will be no toleration of discrimination, harassment or hate speech and appropriate actions will be taken by the organizers.

Is there a dress code?

For the welcoming dinner, the dress code is formal; if you have traditional clothes, then these are also heavily encouraged. There is no strict dress code, but dress respectfully and remember these are your peers. If you are going to a temple, then have clothes covering your knees and shoulders.

Is there an outing day?

Yes, on the afternoon of the third day you can either join to Angkor Watt or Kampong Phluk floating village.

How will attendees return to their starting locations?

Local attendees: A bus will depart from the hotel at 8:30 AM on December 8, 2024, for Phnom Penh.

International attendees: Flights will be arranged, but international participants must organize their transport to the airport.
